UK jobless rate highest since 2016 as second COVID-19 lockdown hits

  Britain’s unemployment rate hit its highest in nearly five years in the three months to November, when coronavirus cases began to rise for a second time and most of the country returned to a partial lockdown. Redundancies touched a record high, taking the unemployment rate to 5.0%, its highest since mid-2016, according to official data, although the increase was slightly weaker than economists’ forecasts. There were some signs of a limited recovery in December, when lockdown measures eased, although a deterioration is likely in early 2021 as a tougher lockdown shut schools and closed most non-essential businesses to the public. Tax data for December showed a 52,000 increase in the number of staff on company payrolls from November, but there were 828,000 fewer workers on payrolls than in February.   कोरोना संकटअघि बिदामा नेपाल आएर पुनः श्रम स्वीकृति लिएकामध्ये ४ हजारभन्दा बढी युवा विदेश जान पाएका छैनन् ।  सरकारले विदामा आएका श्रमिकका लागि पुनः श्रम स्वीकृति खुला गरे पनि श्रम गन्तव्य मुलुकसँग कूटनीतिक पहल नगर्दा विदेश जान नपाएका हुन् । कारोबार दैनिकमा खबर छापिएका छ । हालसम्म ५ हजार ५ सय भन्दा बढी युवाले श्रम स्वीकृति लिएको भए पनि युएई र जापानबाहेक अन्य देश जाने ४ हजार भन्दा बढी युवा जान पाएका छैनन् । श्रम रोजगार तथा सामाजिक सुरक्षा मन्त्रालयका प्रवक्ता सुमन घिमिरेले अन्तरर्राष्ट्रिय उडान सुरु नभएका कारण श्रम स्वीकृति लिएका नेपाली विदेश जान नपाएको बताए । “श्रम स्वीकृति लिएकामध्ये यूएईलगायत केही देशमा भने नेपाली गएका छन्,” प्रवक्ता घिमिरेले भने, “अन्य देश जाने श्रमिकको हकमा भने कसरी पठाउने भन्नेबारे कुटनीतिक पहल गरिने बताए ।”

Why is there a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases in the UAE?

  Dubai: Health care officials across the UAE are cautioning the public not to lower their guard as the country has seen a rise in the number of COVID-19 infections in the last three days. While the number of COVID-19 cases had been on a steady decline since July 9, the recent surge has been a cause for worry. US: Donald Trump's plane nearly hit by drone on Sunday: Witnesses

  President Donald Trump's jet was nearly hit by what appeared to be a small drone as it approached an airport near Washington on Sunday night, according to several people aboard Air Force One. The device, which was yellow and black and shaped like a cross, was off the right side of the plane. It was seen by several passengers on the jet, which occurred shortly before the plane touched down at 5.54pm.The Secret Service and the North American Aerospace Defense Command didn't immediately respond on Monday to requests to confirm reports of the event. The Federal Aviation Administration referred questions on the matter to the Air Force.
